Comparison

Jamatu or Yoordi. One subscription instead of module by module.

Yoordi started with QR ordering and has built a POS, kiosk and online shop around it, each as a separate module with its own fee. With Jamatu, POS, QR ordering and kitchen display are one subscription for the whole venue.

  • CHF 35 a month per venue
  • QR ordering with no monthly fee
  • No fixed fee per receipt
  • Cancel monthly, no prepayment needed

The JamWaiter demo runs right in your browser, no sign-up needed. The login details are pre-filled, so you are in the POS in two clicks.

In brief

Two Zurich systems, two starting points

For a comparison to be worth anything, first a fair description of both.

Jamatu

Built for Swiss hospitality

From the canton of Zurich, for restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels, take-aways and canteens. POS on a tablet, smartphone or JamTerminal, self-ordering by QR code and at the kiosk, kitchen display, ticket printing and the assistant Jonida.

Billing is per venue, not per device. We provide the payment terminal free of charge, and the subscription can be cancelled monthly.

Yoordi

From QR ordering to the POS

Yoordi AG from Zurich became known for «scan. order. pay.», ordering and paying by QR code without an app. Today its range also includes a POS, an ordering kiosk, online shops for pick-up and delivery, and a marketplace for events and food courts. According to Yoordi, more than 400 businesses use it.

Each product is a module with its own monthly fee. Payments run through the partner wallee or through Yoordi's own Yoordi Pay, which is being introduced step by step in 2026.

Honestly, up front

Which system suits whom

The decision isn't made on price alone but on what your venue needs.

Choose Jamatu if

  • you want POS, QR ordering and kitchen from one subscription, without paying for each module separately
  • you have several devices out on the floor and don't want each one to cost its own licence
  • your guests pay many small amounts, such as coffee, drinks or take-away, and a fixed fee per payment adds up
  • you don't want to pay anything in advance and want to stay able to cancel monthly
  • you operate seasonally and take a break in winter

Choose Yoordi if

  • you want to keep your existing POS and only add QR ordering
  • you have already bought terminals from Yoordi Pay or wallee and want to keep using them

At a glance

What both charge

Yoordi does not publish a price list. Alongside the information on yoordi.com, we rely on a Yoordi quote for a food truck and the Yoordi Pay price list for pilot customers, both from 2026. Where nothing is stated there either, we say so instead of guessing.

Support24/7 and on sitefrom Zurich, around the clock according to Yoordi
  1. CHF 35 a month when prepaying two years (CHF 840), CHF 40 for one year, otherwise CHF 49 a month. One subscription per venue, no minimum term.
  2. On yoordi.com, Yoordi states «from CHF 63.20 per month» for the basic licence. In the quote, this corresponds to the first POS licence at CHF 79 with a 20 percent discount when prepaying 24 months; for 12 months the discount is 10 percent. Yoordi prices are exclusive of VAT.
  3. No purchase and no monthly rental, with at least six months of use.
  4. Yoordi Pay pilot prices 2026, regular price CHF 249 to 599. With the partner wallee, its devices and terms apply.
  5. The rate depends on payment method and volume and is stated in your quote. We deliberately do not give a flat figure, because depending on your mix it would be misleading in either direction.
  6. Yoordi Pay special terms for pilot customers 2026, non-binding according to Yoordi. On top come CHF 0.50 per payout, CHF 0.10 for international cards, CHF 0.02 for online sales and CHF 40 per chargeback. yoordi.com states «from 0.99 %».
  7. Kitchen display (Order Dashboard in OrderAdmin), Order Master in JamWaiter and ticket printers with stations and routing rules.
  8. TWINT always needs a connection, and card payments usually do too. That is why we rely on devices with a SIM card that stay connected even without Wi-Fi. Yoordi does not state whether its POS keeps working without a network.

Costs

Where the modules make the difference

With Yoordi, the price adds up from licences, modules and fees per payment and per order. Three typical cases, Yoordi first, then Jamatu.

  • CHF 1'658less in the first year

    Food truck with QR ordering

One POS, ordering and paying by QR code, one terminal. That is how it appears in a Yoordi quote for a food truck, with 12 months paid in advance.

    Yoordi 12 × CHF 156.60 + terminal CHF 199 + replacement CHF 60: CHF 2'138.20 excl. VAT · Jamatu 12 × CHF 40: CHF 480

  • CHF 1'279less per year

    Three devices on the floor

Three devices used for ordering and payment. With Yoordi, one licence per device; with us, one subscription for the venue. Both with two years paid in advance.

    Yoordi (CHF 79 + 2 × CHF 49) × 0.8 × 12: CHF 1'699.20 excl. VAT · Jamatu CHF 420

  • CHF 1'300Yoordi on CHF 100'000 in order sales

    Fees on orders

Whatever guests order by QR code or in the online shop costs 0.9 percent in sales commission with Yoordi, plus the fixed fee of CHF 0.05 on every card payment. Calculated with 8'000 orders at CHF 12.50 each. With us there is neither one nor the other.

    Yoordi 0.9 % × CHF 100'000 = CHF 900 + 8'000 × CHF 0.05 = CHF 400

Yoordi prices exclusive of VAT, from a quote and the Yoordi Pay price list for pilot customers 2026. In the second example we assume the 24-month discount also applies to the additional licences. For Jamatu, the first example uses annual prepayment (CHF 40 a month), the second two years (CHF 35). The percentages per payment are not included, because our rate is stated in the quote: bring your Yoordi quote and we will put both side by side.

The difference

Four things that tip the balance

  • 01

One subscription instead of a list of modules

POS, QR ordering, kitchen display and vouchers are in the same subscription with us. A second device, an extra display or QR ordering does not make the bill bigger.

  • 02

    No fixed fee per payment

Five centimes per payment sounds like little. On a coffee for CHF 4.50, the minimum fee of ten centimes applies, which is more than two percent. With us there is no fixed fee per receipt.

  • 03

    No prepayment, cancel monthly

No prepayment for one or two years. If you take a break, your menu and settings are waiting when you return.

  • 04

    Terminal with no purchase price

We provide the payment terminal, with no purchase and no monthly rental. With Yoordi you buy it and pay monthly for the connection and replacement service.

A fair comparison

Where Yoordi is strong

No system suits every venue. In these cases Yoordi is a good choice.

  • QR ordering for your existing POS. Yoordi can be connected to many POS systems. If you want to keep your POS and are only looking for ordering by QR code, you don't have to switch everything. With us, JamOrder is part of our own POS system.
  • Experience with large customers. According to Yoordi, more than 400 businesses use the system, and according to press reports also groups such as Migros, ZFV and Valora.

For everyone else: one subscription per venue, QR ordering with no monthly fee, no fixed fee per receipt and round-the-clock support from Switzerland. Bring your quote and we will work through your numbers.

Switching

What switching from Yoordi involves

  1. Check the term

With Yoordi, the term is paid in advance. We first check when it ends and whether switching earlier is worthwhile. If that means we have to wait, we will tell you.

  2. Menu and QR codes

We enter items, prices, variants and extras together in one session. We replace the QR codes on the tables with new ones from JamOrder.

  3. Terminals and payments

Terminals you bought from Yoordi Pay or wallee stay with you. With us you get the terminal with no purchase price, and POS and payments come from Jamatu.

Is Jamatu cheaper than Yoordi?

For licences, terminals and QR ordering, yes, see the cost examples. On top of that, Yoordi Pay charges a fixed fee of CHF 0.05 per payment; we charge none. We set out our rate per payment in your quote: bring your Yoordi quote along and we will put both side by side.

Where do the Yoordi prices come from?

Yoordi only publishes entry prices. The other figures come from a Yoordi quote for a food truck and the Yoordi Pay price list for pilot customers, both from 2026. Your quote may differ. Bring it along and we will calculate with your numbers.

Does Jamatu charge a fee on QR orders?

No. JamOrder has no licence or monthly fee and no share of sales. Only the rate per payment from your quote applies, with no fixed fee per receipt.

Why don't you state a percentage?

Because a flat figure would be misleading in either direction. The rate depends on how your guests pay and how much goes through the POS. What we firmly commit to: no fixed fee per receipt, no fee for the terminal, and a rate that is in your quote before you sign.

How long am I tied in with you?

Not at all. The subscription runs online, can be cancelled at the end of any month and has no minimum term. If you pause, your menu, items and settings are kept.

Does Jamatu work without internet?

No. Jamatu needs a connection, which is why smartphones and JamTerminals have a SIM card, and printers can too on request. For payments, offline would gain little anyway: TWINT always needs a connection, and card payments usually do too.
