Shqip Up Festival 2025: box office, bar and cloakroom on one system
Two nights of Albanian comedy at Stadthalle Dietikon: how Shqip Up Festival took payments for entry, drinks, food and the cloakroom with JamWaiter.

Shqip Up Festival is an evening of Albanian stand-up comedy and live music. Since its premiere in 2022 it has brought the Albanian diaspora and their friends together in Zurich, with the shows held at Stadthalle Dietikon. According to the organisers, around 1,500 guests came in 2024. The fourth edition, called «Bigger Laughs», took place on 31 October and 1 November 2025, again over two nights and with comedy in Albanian and German.
Jamatu was there. Not on stage, but wherever people paid.
Three places where guests pay
A comedy night peaks differently from a restaurant. Almost every guest arrives in the same half hour before the show starts, and during the interval the whole hall wants a drink at once. At Shqip Up Festival, three points ran on JamWaiter:
- Box office: entry for everyone without an advance ticket.
- Drinks and cloakroom: one stand selling drinks and taking coats.
- Food and drinks: the stand for the interval and the evening.

The cloakroom is a nice example. In JamWaiter it is simply an item, just like a drink. Anyone handing in a coat and picking up a drink pays for both in one go at the same stand.
One system instead of three cash boxes
Without a shared system, each of these points has its own till, its own list and, at the end, its own settlement. With JamWaiter, entry, drinks, food and cloakroom run on the same devices and in the same reports. Every payment is linked to a point of sale and a person, and at the end of the night one report shows what was sold where.
For an organiser playing two nights in a row, that also means: what worked on the first night and what was missing is already known on the second.
What counter sales look like
This is how a sale works at a stand like the ones in Dietikon: tap a category, choose the item, check the basket, take payment. The video shows it step by step at a festival bar.
More than a comedy night
Shqip Up is about more than the stage. The foyer is full of celebrating, dancing and raised glasses, and the team at the stands has to keep up.
